Lexa Cain, Did You Know, and Cat Fun Facts

Hi everyone, today we continue the sixth stop of Salem’s Daughters’ Blog Tour at Lexa Cain L.X. Cain. For a full itinerary of my blog tour Click Here or simply select the self-named TAB at the top.

Salem’s Daughters Time Traveling Generational Curses. Es No Bueno.

Did You Know The ancient Egyptians held cats in the highest esteem. They worshiped a Cat Goddess, often represented as half feline, half woman. Cats were so special that those who killed them, even by accident, were sentenced to death.

Fun Facts To honor these treasured pets, wealthy families dressed them in jewels and fed them treats fit for royalty. When the cats died, they were mummified. As a sign of mourning, the cat owners shaved off their eyebrows, and continued to mourn until their eyebrows grew back. Art from ancient Egypt shows statues and paintings of every type of feline. 5. Hi Stephen - the worship of cats by the Egyptians is very well known - the British Museum is full of info on the Egyptian way of life. Cats hold a special place in many an era ... they were considered good luck and buried in walls of house 400 years ago. The facts you're giving us - are fascinating ... Salem's Daughters should be a treat .. cheers Hilary

  6. Fun guest post at Lexa's! I knew cats were respected in Egypt, but I had no idea that people shaved their eyebrows to mourn them. Interesting!

  7. Cats were extremely important to Egyptian culture because of what they did -- they kept mice and rats from eating all the stored grain. Egyptians would have gone hungry without them. Naturally, this gratitude developed into something akin to social media worshipping KimK's butt. Such is humanity...

BTW, someone commented they couldn't get the 1st link in your guest blog to open. I changed the "tiny url" link in the orig html doc you sent to the link you have here. It's all good now! :)
